I remember when the Lord spoke this to my spirit at the beginning of 2025, "you want always have enough to get ahead, but I promise you'll have enough to get by". God's word won't return unto thee void. I've sat back and watched Him do just that, give my family and I enough to keep getting by. He shall supply all of your needs according to His riches in glory!
Scripture: “Give us this day our daily bread.” — Matthew 6:11
Sometimes we want God to give us enough for today, tomorrow, next month, and a little extra just so we know everything is going to be okay. But there are seasons when God simply gives us enough for today; enough to get by.
The Israelites experienced this in the wilderness. God provided manna, but He instructed them to gather only what they needed for that day. They couldn't stockpile it for the future. When the Israelites tried to keep leftover manna overnight against Moses's orders, the extra food bred worms and began to smell. See Exodus, Chapter 16. Every morning they had to wake up trusting that the same God who provided yesterday would provide again today. God wasn't trying to keep them from getting ahead. He was teaching them how to depend on Him.
Sometimes we pray, “Lord, give me enough so I don't have to worry about tomorrow,” while God is saying, “Trust Me with tomorrow.”
Maybe you have just enough strength to make it through today. Just enough grace to handle what's in front of you. Just enough provision to meet the present need. Just enough peace to keep your heart steady. And you wonder, “Lord, why don't You give me more?”
Because sometimes if we had tomorrow's provision today, we wouldn't come looking for Him tomorrow.
God told Paul, “My grace is sufficient for thee.” (2nd Corinthians 12:9) Sufficient means enough. Not necessarily an abundance for every imagined need... but enough grace for the need you're facing right now.
There's a difference between barely having enough and having exactly what God knows you need. The widow's oil kept flowing as long as there were vessels to fill. The Israelites found manna waiting every morning. Elijah was fed by ravens one meal at a time. 5000 were fed with just two fish and five loaves of bread. Again and again, Scripture shows us a God who provides at the point of need. So don't become discouraged because you can't see far ahead.
You may not have tomorrow's strength because today isn't tomorrow. You may not have next week's answer because you're not there yet. You may not have provision for the next season because God is still providing for this one.
God may not always put enough in your hands to make you feel independent, but He will put enough there to remind you that He is dependable.
Remember: Yesterday's provision reminds me that God was faithful. Today's provision reminds me that God is faithful. And tomorrow's provision will remind me that God will still be faithful.

"Dear Lord, help me stop worrying about having enough for tomorrow and recognize what You've provided for today. When I can't see how everything is going to work out, teach me to trust You one day at a time. Thank You for daily bread, daily grace, daily strength, and daily mercy. I may not have everything figured out, but I have You—and You are enough. Amen."
