Why A Blog Titled: "Becoming Better Women"?

Back around the last week of October 2017, I had a dream about the acronym "BBW" standing for something profound! I was standing in a room full of women, some I knew and some I had never seen before in my life and I looked down at a piece of paper and it said in bold cursive writing, BBW = "Becoming Better Women". There were women of all shapes and sizes in this room, different ages and races, showing different emotions. Nothing was said in the dream but when I woke up I didn't forget about it. In fact, a couple of days later I text myself those three words, becoming better women. Not yet knowing what to do with it, what it meant exactly, but feeling very strongly the Lord gave it to me for a reason! I had no idea that a week later, after having this dream, I would end up in the hospital for what seemed to be the longest and most challenging 7 days of my life! Throughout my time in the hospital, "Becoming Better Women" would go through my mind. Around a week later, I would visit my best friend at her home in which we were discussing new hobbies, interests, outlets for me to stay occupied as I continued healing. The subject of blogging came up in our conversations in the past, but I always brushed it off. However, this time I was ready. She created the blog, did the work for me so all I had to do was start posting on it, and as we were throwing out what to name the blog the Lord kept taking me back to "Becoming Better Women", and I knew that is what He was wanting me to call/title this blog. I was excited about going through a year of social media posts that I would copy and paste to my blog.

I have felt a calling to minister to women, women who struggle with their self esteem, their health, their walk with God, their relationships, etc. Plus size women, like myself, who have had to find herself in a world who only sees beautiful as the sterotype of a size 2, tall, blonde hair and blue eyes; the perfect figure in their eyes. Or a woman, like me, who fights through continuous sickness and surgeries may be sterotyped as weak and unhealthy, a hypochondriac, or not physically healthy as the world wants to see a woman. Yet, there is no such thing as perfection, but there is such a thing as bettering yourself. I want to be the BBW, in terms of becoming a better woman.

Becoming better women is seeing ourselves as beautiful no matter our figure or looks, no matter the bullying of the world, or no matter the naysayers, because we have to see ourself as God sees us; we are created in His very image. There are so many significant roles of women, even in the biblical days. You will become a better woman when you love yourself based on how God loves you and not others. God implanted the love of Christ within us before we were ever formed in our mother’s womb. Jeremiah 1:5 states that the Lord knew us before we were even born, before we were even formed in our mother's womb, He set us apart. God’s love is the basis of our DNA. When babies are born they respond quickly to the love and care of their mother. It is not an emotion they have to be taught to express, this love is freely given and received. Becoming better women is based on how we truly love ourselves according to the Word of God. Once again, we must see ourselves as God sees us and not how the world sees us.

Jesus may be calling you to come to Him, because He wants to set you free. He not only sees your struggles but he also sees your future prognosis, and that is seeing you healed and whole; He is God. Women, there is greatness in you. Each and every one of you, no matter your past, there is potential to become a better woman as long as you invest your time and energy in allowing Jesus to rescue you. There has not been one day where the Lord has not loved you. He died for your freedom, your salvation, your deliverance, your future, your healing, your peace, and your betterness that will lead to your perfection on the other side of glory. And, if you will allow Him to love you, I believe you will also hear Him calling your name. Remember, His sheep knows His voice and no other will they follow. John 10:27

God knows you to be His spiritual daughter; look to Him for the foundation for your life. When you are united with Christ, you will remove the crisis in your life. It may take time for your restoration to occur but do not miss His voice when He calls your name. Regardless of where you are in the journey, our Father desires to make you a better woman. Do not lose your focus or allow others to get you off track. Women, this is our time and season to become better women!

In Christ,
Kimmy Mc ♡
