The Blessing is in the Battle!

Not feeling the best in the world, I come out of prayer time with the Lord speaking this to my spirit... "I want you to look for your blessings in the middle of the battle!" God surely gets your attention, if you'll only get still and attentive enough to listen to Him. He was reminding me of just what all I have to be thankful for in the middle of it all. Sometimes we even fail to realize when a blessing comes our way. Just over the last week or so, God reminded me of how I thought things weren't going to work out and boom, a blessing drops in my lap. Firstly, my phone charger broke, and in walks my daddy from work that same day with the same phone charger I needed for my phone. He didn't know it had broke. Secondly, I broke my glasses, but they were still under warranty so I didn't have to pay anything to have the frames replaced. Thirdly, I needed $67.xx for a bill, and I had $71.xx deposited into my checking account from event tickets I had sold. Fourthly, yes I may be facing another sickness right now, but I have health insurance, I am not in the hospital, God healed me from the other issue with surgery so that I'm not fighting 2 things at once, and I have 2 great parents who are still here to help me along the way. I also know I have people who care for me, love me, and are praying for me. And lastly, I can still walk, talk, see, and hear in a comfortable home. Sometimes, we get so caught up in the battles of life that we simply forget to remember the blessings along the way. I can grow tired and weary from the struggles of life, or I can shift my focus to just how blessed I truly am. God is wanting someone else to know that the blessing is in the battle, for in the middle of it you can truly see God's favor, grace, compassion, and mercy if you really focus on it. When Paul ask the Lord to remove the thorn in his side, God told him that His grace was sufficient for him. Paul realized that his suffering allowed him to share in the passion of Christ. With an outward focus, Paul also understood that all people have their own thorns, and therefore their own dependence on Christ. Yes it's been long battles for me, but oh how I'm learning to depend on the Lord more and more as my faith in Him deepens! • James 1:2, “Consider it all joy, my brothers, when you encounter various trials, for you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.”

In Christ,
Kimmy ♡
