"Jesus is the reason for the season"! Several years back I said this and immediately the Lord quickened my spirit and said, "Kimberly, My Son is the reason for every season!"
I remember after that I starting saying, "Jesus is the reason for EVERY SEASON! Winter, Spring, Summer, and Fall, He is my ALL!" Oh yes, it's so important that we focus and celebrate this precious baby born of a virgin to come and save this sin sick world, this Holy Birth at Christmas time, but emphasizing His birth, life, death, and resurrection as the source of our hope, salvation, and meaning in every part of life is what it means to say Jesus is the reason for EVERY SEASON, not just Christmas, and it encourages us, as believers, to find joy and purpose in Him year-round.
As we gather around the Christmas tree this year, exchange gifts, and even sing songs celebrating Christ’s birth, let us remember the broader narrative. Jesus is the Alpha and Omega, He is the beginning and the end, the Creator and Sustainer of all things. He is the Redeemer who reconciles sinners to God and the King who will one day make all things new.
We celebrate His birth with joy, but we must also live each day in recognition of His rule and reign, submitting ourselves to His sovereignty.
Scripture I would like to share:
“For by Him all things were created, in Heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through Him and for Him. And he is before all things, and in Him all things hold together. And He is the head of the body, the church. He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in everything He might be preeminent. For in Him all the fullness of God was pleased to dwell, and through Him to reconcile to Himself all things, whether on earth or in Heaven, making peace by the blood of His cross” (Colossians 1:16-20).
When I read this scripture I am reminded that: Jesus is not only the reason for the season of Christmas but for every season of life and eternity. His holy birth heralds the incarnation of God, but His life, death, resurrection, and ongoing reign demand our recognition of His preeminence in all things. When I am stepping back and truly seeing everything Jesus is and means to me I am reminded of how much He has has KEPT me and brought me through. He has His sovereign, merciful hand on all of us.
A poem, "Jesus Kept", I wrote back in 2021 came back to me to share with y'all tonight! Notice that the word “kept” is in the past tense; the keeping was completed in the past. Jesus was keeping us before He ever formed us in our mother's womb. He was keeping us when He took His last breath on the cross. He was keeping us when He left His Holy Spirit behind to be our helper, teacher, comforter, and sanctifier. To be "Jesus Kept" means we are reserved, set apart, taken, spoken for, saved, loved unconditionally, and held by Him, He is the REASON for EVERY SEASON. ♡♡♡
《"Jesus Kept"》
Jesus kept me before I was saved. Jesus kept me when I misbehaved. Jesus kept me when I gave my life to Him. Jesus kept me when the way grew so dim.
Jesus kept me when I was down. Jesus kept me when no one was around. Jesus kept me when life was grand. Jesus kept me in the palm of His hand.
Jesus kept me when times where bad. Jesus kept me when I was sad. Jesus kept me when times were good. Jesus kept me and through it all I withstood.
Jesus kept me when the money was tight. Jesus kept me and made it all alright. Jesus kept me when I was scared and unsure. Jesus kept me and His love is secure.
Jesus kept me when He was dying on the cross. Jesus kept me when I counted it all but loss. Jesus kept me when He arose from the grave. Jesus kept me when I needed to be brave.
Jesus kept me when I was full of fear. Jesus kept me and stays always near. Jesus kept me when I lost my joy. Jesus kept me when the enemy sent others to destroy.
Jesus kept me when I was full of hope. Jesus kept me when I was at the end of my rope. Jesus kept me when I was sick and fighting illness. Jesus kept me and showed me His realness.
Jesus kept me and I felt His healing touch. Jesus kept me even when I used Him as a crutch. Jesus kept me and He's never left me behind. Jesus kept me and healed my mind.
Jesus kept me when I wanted to quit. Jesus kept me when I seemed unfit. Jesus kept me and He turned my life around. Jesus kept me and placed my feet on solid ground.
Jesus kept me when my faith was strong. Jesus kept me when I was wronged. Jesus kept me when I was broken and torn apart. Jesus kept me and from me He did not depart.
Jesus kept me and put me back together. Jesus kept me and made it even better. Jesus kept me close to His side. Jesus kept me and He is forever my guide.
Jesus kept me and always will. Jesus kept me and helped me get over that hill. Jesus kept me and one day His face I shall see. Jesus kept me and soon I will praise Him for all eternity.
