My prayer is that many people, across this world, will be encouraged and uplifted by reading even one of these posts. The birth of this blog brought much healing into various areas of my life. If you scroll to the bottom of the home page, you will see a link to the post on the birth of this blog and why I named the blog "becoming better women". Even though I want to reach everyone, this was about helping myself learn to keep growing in Christ "Christ like". I may struggle, but I will never quit.

Embracing my Flaws and Curly Hair!
I think as women this is all of us at some point in life: "I don’t see myself as I should—as a daughter of the King, beautifully made, in exactly the way I should look. I allow those inner critics to take hold when I zoom in on every perceived flaw or unruly hair (and grey) or bumps and rolls". Maybe for you it’s not measuring up at work or at school, up to this imaginary standard of achievement where you’d like to derive your worth. Maybe you can’t rejoice in a loving relationship because you’re sure you’re not worthy. But what if instead of picking ourselves apart, in all the ways we do, we remember God made us in His image and likeness? Silence the inner critics that say we aren’t enough. Let’s appreciate the beautiful existence and body God has gifted us with. When someone tells me to go comb my hair, excuse me but I have natural curly hair and I embrace it... or they tell me to put on makeup, excuse me but I like my natural look... or they tell me I need to lose weight... I like myself and me and God have it all worked out. So in 2020, here's to loving and embracing yourself; learning to enjoy a 'not over-filtered', 'flaws covered up in pictures', life!
