"A Garment of Praise for a spirit of heaviness"

Just sharing my heart of how God's been faithful to see me through a hard battle with depression after losing my last grandparent, my MoMo, who I moved in with and helped take care of for almost 5 years, in December 2016. When you finally feel that spirit of oppression/heaviness lift off of you, you cannot help but testify to others. What I have went through and go through is never in vain but to help others who are going through similar situations. If you are dealing with a spirit of heaviness, God is in your midst and He hasn't forgotten you. I don't have to know you, but I am praying and believing for your deliverance and healing. I am specifically praying for healing in these following areas as God is directing me: Excessive Mourning, Spirit of Oppression, Sorrow-grief, Insomnia, Self Pity-spirit holding you to the hell of your past, Broken Heart, Despair-Hopelessness, Depression, Suicidal Thoughts, Inner Hurts-Torn Spirit, Spirit of Rejection, Self-hatred, Self-rejection, Self-Accusation

Depression or "heaviness/oppression" is a "spirit." When we are unaware of the devil's schemes and the way to fight them, the result can be "a spirit of heaviness" that can paralyze us emotionally and steal our purpose and calling by shutting us down. How does the enemy do that? Did you have dreams or goals that were unfulfilled? Many times the enemy comes to accuse or point out that God has failed us. That is a lie from the pit of hell but that is how the demonic spirits work to accuse God. Or maybe you have had a loss suddenly from a loved one you cared about and are stuck in sorrow and grief? The answer for the "spirit of heaviness" is the "garment of praise." Oh  satan hates praise, but PRAISE exalts Jesus no matter what the situation or circumstances are. It is putting our trust in Him and praise activates our faith to trust in the Lord regardless what the circumstances looks like at the moment. God is working behind the scenes and sees what we don't. You see praise ushers in light and life into our circumstances. It is the ultimate act of faith.

2 Corinthians 3:17 "The Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom."

Galatians 5:1 " Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage."

John 8:36 " Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed."

Only through Christ Jesus is there truly freedom in Him. He came to heal the brokenhearted from pain, deep sorrows, loss, grief, depression, unhappiness, discontentment, etc.

Isaiah 61:1-3 "The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; He hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound; 2 To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn; 3 To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, [[the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness]]; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified."

8.21.2022 - 8.24.2022 • A "reconnect and reset trip" to the Great Smoky Mountains with my dear friend of 10 years, Susan. We haven't got to visit and see each other in a long while. We talk over the phone some. In 2012, we met while attending the same church, and connected instantly. We've held each other up in prayer, encouraged each other in the Lord, cried and laughed together, and worshipped together, as sisters in Christ should. Why A Blog Titled: "Becoming Better Women"?

Back around the last week of October 2017, I had a dream about the acronym "BBW" standing for something profound! I was standing in a room full of women, some I knew and some I had never seen before in my life and I looked down at a piece of paper and it said in bold cursive writing, BBW =  "Becoming Better Women" . There were women of all shapes and sizes in this room, different ages and races, showing different emotions. Nothing was said in the dream but when I woke up I didn't forget about it. In fact, a couple of days later I text myself those three words, becoming better women. Not yet knowing what to do with it, what it meant exactly, but feeling very strongly the Lord gave it to me for a reason! I had no idea that a week later, after having this dream, I would end up in the hospital for what seemed to be the longest and most challenging 7 days of my life! We Prepare for Battle in Prayer!

Read Ephesians 6:10-18 The armor of God is vital to Christian belivers when it comes to our prayer life, overcoming spiritual warfare, and overcoming a lukewarm lifestyle. We can learn to become crucified in Christ so that the flesh part of us can resist the enemy's lies and temptations to sin. We can become transformed into a new person in Christ and no longer be enslaved to our old habits and sinful nature and attitude. We have daily choices to live accordingly to God's righteous standards and deny sin. We we choose God's desires for our life instead of sins, we crucify our flesh. Sin is only pleasurable for a season, and then it will turn on you like an unknown allergic reaction to a favorite food you ate.
