People can easily spend an hour on social media accounta but after only a few minutes around the altar at church, they are ready to leave. We may be into microwaving but God is into marinating. “They that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength”… (Isaiah 40:31). Some churches have completely removed altar calls and invitations, while others put altar call on a 3-5 minute time frame. In churches today, working to create the guest friendly short service may have cost us the lost art of waiting on God. The great work that has been done by the Holy Spirit while the saints waited on God around the altar is immeasurable. How can we expect God to alter our lives and our situations if we don’t spend time at the altar?!
My prayer is that many people, across this world, will be encouraged and uplifted by reading even one of these posts. The birth of this blog brought much healing into various areas of my life. If you scroll to the bottom of the home page, you will see a link to the post on the birth of this blog and why I named the blog "becoming better women". Even though I want to reach everyone, this was about helping myself learn to keep growing in Christ "Christ like". I may struggle, but I will never quit.
