“Who is the one who convicts people of sin? It is the Holy Spirit! Who enables people to say 'Jesus is Lord'? It is the Holy Spirit! Who baptizes people into Christ? It is the Holy Spirit! Who brings new birth? It is the Holy Spirit! Who assures us that we belong to Jesus? It is the Holy Spirit! Who produces the fruit of changed characters? It is the Holy Spirit! Who gives us gifts so that we can serve God more effectively? It is the Holy Spirit!”

All these things are the working of God, the Holy Spirit, bringing people to faith in Jesus Christ. Our part as believers is simply to make sure we are available to God and ready to obey Him when He wants to use us, and that we don’t get in God’s way by trying to do His work for Him! The Holy Spirit is already at work in the lives of “not yet Christians.” And the Holy Spirit is at work in our lives, Christians, too. It is the Holy Spirit who gives us the words to say when we share the gospel. We may feel we could never tell other people about Jesus. But it’s not about skillful speaking and persuasive words. It’s about the power of the Holy Spirit working in us, and working in the people we are talking to! God provides us with opportunities to minister and the Holy Spirit helps us fulfill those opportunities. Let us remember how imperative it is to allow the Holy Spirit to work freely in and thru our lives without restraints or limitations!! The Holy Spirit is available right now to bring whatever you have need of: salvation, healing, deliverance, restoration, comfort, help, strength, freedom. The Holy Spirit is what allows God's word to go forth with power and victory!!

** 1 Corinthians 2:4 "My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit's power." And that power isn’t just for ministers and evangelists, but for EVERY Christian. That is what Jesus promised in Luke 24:49 – "And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued (clothed) with power from on high." **

8.21.2022 - 8.24.2022 • A "reconnect and reset trip" to the Great Smoky Mountains with my dear friend of 10 years, Susan. We haven't got to visit and see each other in a long while. We talk over the phone some. In 2012, we met while attending the same church, and connected instantly. We've held each other up in prayer, encouraged each other in the Lord, cried and laughed together, and worshipped together, as sisters in Christ should. We belly laughed so much on our vacation until we were hurting and seeing stars. Why A Blog Titled: "Becoming Better Women"?

Back around the last week of October 2017, I had a dream about the acronym "BBW" standing for something profound! I was standing in a room full of women, some I knew and some I had never seen before in my life and I looked down at a piece of paper and it said in bold cursive writing, BBW =  "Becoming Better Women" . There were women of all shapes and sizes in this room, different ages and races, showing different emotions. Nothing was said in the dream but when I woke up I didn't forget about it. In fact, a couple of days later I text myself those three words, becoming better women. Not yet knowing what to do with it, what it meant exactly, but feeling very strongly the Lord gave it to me for a reason! I had no idea that a week later, after having this dream, I would end up in the hospital for what seemed to be the longest and most challenging 7 days of my life! We Prepare for Battle in Prayer!

Read Ephesians 6:10-18 The armor of God is vital to Christian belivers when it comes to our prayer life, overcoming spiritual warfare, and overcoming a lukewarm lifestyle. We can learn to become crucified in Christ so that the flesh part of us can resist the enemy's lies and temptations to sin. We can become transformed into a new person in Christ and no longer be enslaved to our old habits and sinful nature and attitude. We have daily choices to live accordingly to God's righteous standards and deny sin. We we choose God's desires for our life instead of sins, we crucify our flesh. Sin is only pleasurable for a season, and then it will turn on you like an unknown allergic reaction to a favorite food you ate.
