Allowing the Holy Spirit to work in your life!

In order to be led by the Holy Spirit, anointed by the Holy Spirit, guided by the Holy Spirit, operate in the gifts of the Holy Spirit, you must follow the Holy Spirit. You can't follow man, the world, church people, denomination or anything else; a key issue of why Christians are so desperately hungry yet continue to snack on crumbs under the table instead of getting up off the floor, sitting at the Master's table and feasting on God's promises!! I only speak from how I've grown spiritually and what God's brought me thru. See, I was that one who relied solely on others to pray me thru without me ever saying a word, the one who relied on sister so and so being at church for me get thru a service, the one who was so people and pastor dependent it left me broken many times over. Not until I fully grasped what it meant to live following only God and relying up on Him... did I get to point where I become tough skinned, bold in ministry for Him, confident of who I am in Christ, and receiving/operating in the gifts of the Holy Spirit I've been so graciously given. I continually grow in Christ... but I do so by daily following after only God & His Holy Spirit. Thru my obedience, I receive the wisdom, discernment, knowledge, peace, and strength I need to stay out of situations I don't need to be in, to know when to speak/not too, to know when I need to walk away from something, to know how to pray for myself/others, to know how to keep pushing thru every challenging test & pitiful attacks/attempts of the enemy to pull me away from God, to become oblivious to anything I don't need to know or see, to not fear or doubt, and most importantly how to see others thru His eyes, love thru His heart, & feel thru His Spirit. When you follow after the Holy Spirit, there isn't anything He can't handle and get you through. When you are questioning what is next in life, when you're at a crossroad and don't know where to go or what to do, just always follow the Holy Spirit & He will lead you where you need to go. Jesus told the disciples to deny themselves, to take up their cross, and FOLLOW HIM. They had to leave family and jobs behind at that point in order to follow only Him. You canNOT bring something of the world into your life or into the church & try to slap "Jesus" on it and think it is okay. John 16:13 "Howbeit when He, the Spirit of truth, is come, He will guide you into all truth: for He shall not speak of Himself; but whatsoever He shall hear, that shall He speak: & He will show you things to come."

8.21.2022 - 8.24.2022 • A "reconnect and reset trip" to the Great Smoky Mountains with my dear friend of 10 years, Susan. We haven't got to visit and see each other in a long while. We talk over the phone some. In 2012, we met while attending the same church, and connected instantly. We've held each other up in prayer, encouraged each other in the Lord, cried and laughed together, and worshipped together, as sisters in Christ should. We belly laughed so much on our vacation until we were hurting and seeing stars. We were planning to rest more, but we decided to pack in the fun while the Lord gave us the opportunity to do so together and memories sure were made. We prayed for God to pave the way and He did. Why A Blog Titled: "Becoming Better Women"?

Back around the last week of October 2017, I had a dream about the acronym "BBW" standing for something profound! I was standing in a room full of women, some I knew and some I had never seen before in my life and I looked down at a piece of paper and it said in bold cursive writing, BBW =  "Becoming Better Women" . There were women of all shapes and sizes in this room, different ages and races, showing different emotions. Nothing was said in the dream but when I woke up I didn't forget about it. In fact, a couple of days later I text myself those three words, becoming better women. Not yet knowing what to do with it, what it meant exactly, but feeling very strongly the Lord gave it to me for a reason! I had no idea that a week later, after having this dream, I would end up in the hospital for what seemed to be the longest and most challenging 7 days of my life! We Prepare for Battle in Prayer!

Read Ephesians 6:10-18 The armor of God is vital to Christian belivers when it comes to our prayer life, overcoming spiritual warfare, and overcoming a lukewarm lifestyle. We can learn to become crucified in Christ so that the flesh part of us can resist the enemy's lies and temptations to sin. We can become transformed into a new person in Christ and no longer be enslaved to our old habits and sinful nature and attitude. We have daily choices to live accordingly to God's righteous standards and deny sin. We we choose God's desires for our life instead of sins, we crucify our flesh. Sin is only pleasurable for a season, and then it will turn on you like an unknown allergic reaction to a favorite food you ate.
