From Marah to Elim!
"From Marah to Elim" - Sometimes you can't get to your Elim in life *a place of restoration until you go through your Marah *a place of bitterness.
I studied over this word again, recorded the devotion back on Feb. 11th of this year. I didn't know around that time that my balance/ear situation from an inner ear disease I have been fighting for over 18 years would progressively get worse to the point of my ear shunt needing revising due to it malfunctioning. So I had surgery for that on March 5th, 2025... and I've been in recovery mode since. I was going back through files on my phone and realized that I failed to upload and share this video devotion study. Isn't it just like the enemy to do his best to immediately bring distraction and hindrances our way to try to stop God's word from going forth with power and victory?! But God... the enemy will never fully stop the word(s) of the Lord from being delivered... oh, he may try to cause the delays but God always causes it to be shared at the perfect time that He sees fit; in due time! This particular word was birthed into my spirit back in mid-2023. *I realized towards the end of the video I keep mentioning the year to be 2024, but it was indeed in 2023.* My prayer is that even one person is encouraged by something shared/said in this video devotion. I am long overdue on posting one, but this is surely an on time word for someone to keep pushing forward, just as it was for me when I first received it! We can't set up permanent residency in our "Marah", when God has an "Elim" prepared for us just a little further down the road! 🙌♥️
Background info:
The story of Marah and Elim, as described in Exodus 15:22-16:35, recounts the Israelites' journey from the Red Sea to the oasis of Elim, encountering bitter water at Marah, which God made drinkable, and then finding a place of abundance at Elim.
The Journey Begins:
After crossing the Red Sea, the Israelites, led by Moses, traveled into the desert of Shur for three days without water.
Marah's Bitter Waters:
They reached Marah, an oasis, but the water was too bitter to drink, prompting the people to complain against Moses.
God's Intervention:
Moses cried out to the Lord, and God showed him a piece of wood. When Moses threw it into the water, it became sweet and drinkable.
God's Decree:
God then set a decree before the people, stating that if they would listen to His voice and obey His commands, He would not bring upon them any of the diseases He brought on the Egyptians.
Arrival at Elim:
After leaving Marah, the Israelites traveled to Elim, an oasis with twelve springs and seventy palm trees, where they camped by the water.
Elim's Abundance:
Elim, meaning "large trees," (abundance) represented the fullness of God's blessing for his people after a long, hard journey. It was a time of restoration after leaving a bitter place.
